"Living authentically is being committed to the truth of who we are, pure consciousness.
It is setting the intention to walk with God more fully and gratefully, experiencing love.
This work is a lifetime process, but in each moment, we have a choice.
What choices will you make to live authentically today?"

Welcome Change

Welcome Change

Life does not stand still. It keeps moving and shaking.
Just as soon as we think we’ve got
our ducks in a row, change occurs.
And when it does, it’s a waste of time to worry,
blame, feel guilt or disappointment,
or practice any other negative behavior.
It’s much better to instead ask, “What new opportunities
will this unexpected change create?”
Today, think of a recent change in your life that has
upset you or thrown you off balance and try to look
at it in a new light. Open your mind and ask if
there’s any way it might lead to good down the road.
If you call the change good, no matter what it looks like
or feels like, it must turn out to be good.

Albert Schweitzer:
At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.

What better month then November when most Americans are focusing on thanks to look at gratitude?
I have recently been reminded that it takes twenty one days to create a habit and it occurred to me that by starting a gratitude journal documenting the things we are grateful for by November 22nd we should have a wonderfully long list of things for which we are grateful.

You can’t be hateful when you’re grateful.

Gratitude changes Attitude

A few days ago I wrote in my journal that I was a failure then I looked back and decided I was not accepting the way my life is and I wanted more so I started creating a gratitude list and thought I would share my motto with you.
Gratitude changes Attitude.
Not sure where I got that from but that's it, at least for today.

Pay attention to your emotions

Pay attention to your emotions
"Emotions are the next frontier to be understood and conquered. To manage our emotions is not to drug them or suppress them, but to understand them so that we can intelligently direct our emotional energies and intentions.... It's time for human beings to grow up emotionally, to mature into emotionally managed and responsible citizens. No magic pill will do it."

Give Yourself a Treat

Give Yourself a Treat

The universe will only treat you as well
as you treat yourself. That means you must be
especially good to yourself.
Today, think of one thing that you would
really love but that you “don’t have time for,”
and then make the time. Get a massage,
go to lunch with a friend, play a sport that you love,
or practice a hobby that you enjoy.
Life is meant to be enjoyed. The better you treat yourself, the better you will find life treating you.

A Letter of Appreciation

On a personal level, I have come to realize the importance of self
appreciation. In this world, as we live and grow, we are told
constantly how wrong we are and how inappropriate our thoughts. This
causes us to feel we must "justify" ourselves, and we live in the
energy of always defending ourselves just to feel somewhat well.
This, I have found, has been at the core of much of the sorrow and
poverty I have created and accepted for myself. What a relief to now
discover how false this dance is.
We are wholly justified; our life is an important aspect of our
Creator. We are an individualized aspect of our Creator that no-one
else can replace. The value in self appreciation and appreciation of
all others is so very powerful. We can move forward from the past
conditioning through the practice of appreciation. We were all wrong
to think there is something wrong with us, missing in us, etc. etc.
We must forgive everyone this projection of unworthiness. Because it
is only their belief in lack within themselves that has been projected
out into those around them. It is powerful to say, "I am wholly
acceptable in all ways. I appreciate the love I give to myself, and
all that I do to a create positive life experience. I forgive myself
and all others. I appreciate everything that happens in my life,
because it provides the contrast that will cause the desire. I
embrace the desire wholly. It is my desire and is wholly acceptable. I
am grateful to be loved by Source, and I am supported by life. All is
well. I cannot do it wrong. I can only do all I can now according to
my current understanding. I appreciate myself that I am willing to
grow and give a good life to myself. As I grow strong, I am able to
give more to all others. I am wholly Loved and accepted by the Source
of all beings / all life. I am a pleasure in His sight. I appreciate
myself. I appreciate myself. I appreciate myself."
And I appreciate everyone here. I appreciate all the wonderful
teachers of this truth: We are all beings of great value and worth.
There is nothing to measure up to in order to be "alright." There is
only appreciation from our Source for His Perfect Creation. So it is.

Why do Questions Work?

Why do Questions Work?

"The quality of one’s life is directly related to the quality of questions one asks oneself." -- Tony Robbins

Why is this? How can we use questions to get more out of life?

When we make a statement, we primarily use our logical, rational, left brain. Statements affirm what is. Questions, on the other hand, invoke more of our intuitive, creative right brain. They challenge us to discover what might be. While statements are static, questions lead us into unexplored territory. They open doors to new possibilities!

Take just one moment to do this simple exercise. Say to yourself, "I don’t have enough time to get everything done." Experience how you feel after you make that statement.

Now say to yourself, "How can I give more time to what’s important to me?" Again, tune in to your feelings. Don’t you feel stronger and more open, powerful and energized by the question?

And here’s the really good news. Your question mobilizes the immense power of your subconscious mind. If you ask a question, your subconscious will always answer it, drawing from unlimited resources and wisdom that are not directly available to your conscious mind.

If you want to clear those problems in your life, remember to ask constructive, open-ended questions that cannot be answered with a simple yes or no. A great question to use often is, "What can I learn from this situation?"

Many people use positive affirmations. Why not change the words around to form empowering questions that draw out creative helpful ideas and solutions? Change your critical self talk to empowering question asking.

So think more often in terms of questions rather than answers. If you focus on a wrong answer, you have to start over again. If you focus on a question, there will always be more options and your subconscious mind will continue to work for you.

Once you’ve asked a question, you then need to listen and watch for the answer. Be alert, for the answers can be subtle and indirect. They can also come from anywhere at any time. The key is to be aware: to watch and listen, and be open to new possibilities.

"It is not the answer that enlightens, but the question." - Decouvertes

So talk to yourself with lots of expansive, empowering questions. Open to your own power to actively create with consciousness. Question your life!

Quotes & Comment

This is a comment I wanted everyone to see without having to click on comments thought it would be so helpful.
Alice
Hooray for the two of you for getting this great project off the ground. Here are some quotes that have helped me a lot. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do...............

"To write spiritually is to engage in a search for authentic language. You’ll find your truth by writing your way to it."-- Patrice Vecchione

Who would allow you to totally ignore, abuse, laugh with, swear at, shed tears on, get angry at and be totally honest with him/her? Your journal does.Your journal is an unconditional friend. It does not reject, manipulate, judge, laugh at or ridicule you. It’s always there for you. So be honest with your best friend and it will help you discover who you are.
"The positive thing about writing is that you connect with yourself in the deepest way, and that's heaven. You get a chance to know who you are, to know what you think. You begin to have a relationship with your mind."-- Natalie Goldberg

Creating Home

Today, I intend to see the home that exists within me. Here within me, all is peaceful and every need that I could possibly experience is instantly fulfilled. It is in this spacious environment, so full of love, that the sacred nurturing overflows to all around me, in the other world, the world outside.
I love this Home. I can enter here in an instant, and I am always immediately welcomed. I am always loved. I am always seen in my infinite perfection. It is the ultimate source of all provision. When I come here, and rest within this spacious, lovely place within me, safe and secure, I can see the perfection unfolding in every circumstance and every person and every event, in the world outside of this space. It is the perfection of freedom to grow, the perfection of freedom to be, and even the perfection of freedom to stagnate, if that is the chosen course. But always it is freedom to have, do, or be, all that we choose to believe. I love the perfection in freedom. I love freedom.
Ultimately, every desire comes to this one gift: The gift of freedom to live life from laughter and joy. And I do not have to wait for anything to change in the world outside. The freedom to choose joy is already given. But I must enter the sacred home within me, for it is only here that I can choose joy.
I know I have the strength and the courage to meet the challenges that I will face today, because I begin this day as I will end this day, resting in the spacious, light of the home within, where I am always greeted by the warm embrace of Joy.

Be the mouse in the corner of your life.
There are lots of journaling tools, questions to ask ourselves etc. For now let’s write and observe our lives. The grammar is not important, the awareness is what we are looking to achieve.

HOPE

"Hope is both the earliest and the most indispensable virtue inherent in the state of being alive. If life is to be sustained hope must remain, even where
confidence is wounded, trust impaired."
~ Erik H. Erikson

I am so pleased Linda could join me in this adventure, and hope we can help others write out their inner most feelings and bring to lite the steps they may need to take in their life journey. When I first begin to journal I was in an abusive relationship and had my journals invaded. I took up my writing as a third person as a disguise, however I was able to look back some time later and analyze the results of actions taken do to releasing feeling on paper. It was a very helpful tool and the insight I gained is immeasurable. As you can see by the date this picture was taken last year at Linda's. I am the short one and Linda is the taller with the long beautiful hair.

Hello Alice!

Hello Alice, I figured out how to get on here. Congratulations for getting this set up and going.
I don't know if you are aware, as you set out on your journey through journaling, that I have thousands of pages (at least a couple of thousand pages) and so many notebooks full of journaling, for me it is in rhyme. Some are usable publishable lyrics, and some are just sorting out random thoughts, and some are intentional writings to move my life in a particular direction. There is no question to journal is a very healthy and natural experience for me. I desire to see what becomes of my participation with you and others here.
Anyway, I expect you will calling me soon this morning to walk me through this process, and I managed to get here on my own. But we will see what if anything happens when I post.
Love,
Linda
